“1Co 9:16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!” The command is not to preach, but rather preach the gospel. Many are preaching, but not preaching the gospel. Listen again to the seriousness of God to his preachers in preaching the gospel, “Gal 1: 6   I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

7  Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

8  But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

9  As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

10   For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

11  But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.

12  For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

There will be a meeting with God by his preachers when each and every one shall give an account to God for faithfully preaching the gospel or having been unfaithful by not preaching the gospel. “ Ro 14:12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.”

Preachers have not only neglected to preach the gospel by preaching another gospel, but by adding and taking away from the truth of the gospel. “Rev 22: 19  And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”

God has and will hold his preachers accountable for preaching the true, pure, undefiled, holy gospel, plus nothing, minus nothing. “2Ti 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Today men will seek the favor of  man, or denomination, or the love of money, or popularity, and pervert the gospel. In both the Old and New Testament God holds his preachers accountable for preaching His gospel. “Jer 23:1 Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD.” “1Ti 1:20 Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.”

As God is serious about preaching let every called man of God preach the gospel in truth and sincerity!
