I will continually praise thee

Preacher:
Passage: Ex 15:2
Service Type:

I will continually praise Him

Ex 15:2 The LORD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

Ps 109:30  I will greatly praise the Lord with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.

Ps 139:14 14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

Lam 3:21  This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.

22   It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

23  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

24  The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

25  The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

26   It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.

Introduction: Three times in life we ought to stop and give praise unto the Lord:

  1. We know we are not what we should be
  2. But thank God we are not what we used to be,
  3. And Praise God we are not what we are going to be.

  1. Not what we ought to be

Romans 7:15  For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.

16  If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.

17  Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

18  For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

19  For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.

20  Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

21  I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.

22  For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

23  But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

24  O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

25  I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Eph 5:12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

  1. Not what we used to be

I tim1:13  Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

Moses was a murderer

David was an adulterer

Abraham was a liar

Jonah ran from God

Laodiceans wouldn’t let Jesus in yet, Jesus felt there were some souls in that church that would repent

III. Praise God I am not what I’m going to be

I John 3:1Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

2  Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Conclusion:

  1. The Christian life is a war
  2. The devil is a liar
  3. Jesus has never lost a one who put their trust in him
  4. Heaven will be worth it all
