Passage: II Cor 9:5-15
Service Type:

Love Your Salvation

II Cor 9:5  Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren, that they would go before unto you, and make up beforehand your bounty, whereof ye had notice before, that the same might be ready, as a matter of bounty, and not as of covetousness.

6   But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

7  Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

 (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.

10  Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)

11  Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.

12  For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God;

13  Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men;

14  And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.

15  Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

Re 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Re 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

III. We should love our salvation because it will take us to heaven

Rev 20:6  Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

  1. We should love our salvation because it is to be use to win others to Christ and keep them out of hell

Php 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Mt 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Mt 5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

Conclusion:

  1. Do you love your salvation?
  2. What are you doing with this wonderful gift that God has given you?
  3. When a lost and dying world sees you does it see your salvation?
  4. Is there anything you have in your life you love more than your salvation???????

Psm 126:3  The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.

4  Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south.

5  They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
