Tears are a language that God Understands!

Psalm 126:1 When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.

2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them.

3 The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.

4 Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the south.

5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

Introduction: Weeping and telling others about Christ brings results

1. Weeping over lost souls
2. Sowing the precious Word of God

 I.  Joseph wept when he saw his brother

Gen. 43:30 And Joseph made haste; for his bowels did yearn upon his brother: and he sought where to weep; and he entered into his chamber, and wept there.

31 And he washed his face, and went out, and refrained himself, and said, Set on bread.

II.  Israel wept for Moses

Duet. 34:8 And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days: so the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended.

III. Job wept

Job 16:15  I have sewed sackcloth upon my skin, and defiled my horn in the dust.

16 My face is foul with weeping, and on my eyelids is the shadow of death;

17 Not for any injustice in mine hands: also my prayer is pure.

18 O earth, cover not thou my blood, and let my cry have no place.

IV.  When King Herod was slaying the children, Rachel wept

Matt. 2:18 In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.

V.  Jesus promised joy for weeping

Luke 6:21 Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.

Ps 30:5b weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

VI.  The Word says weep with them that weep

Romans 12:15  Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

VII.  Jesus Wept

John 11:35Jesus wept.

VIII. Paul wept over the mission field

Act 20:31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

IX.  God will wipe our tears away

Rev 7:17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

Conclusion: Tears are priceless

Psalm 56:8 Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?

9 When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.

10 In God will I praise his word: in the Lord will I praise his word.

11 In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.

12 Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.
