Why God Doesn’t Answer Our Prayers
Why God Doesn’t Answer Prayers
Prov 1:25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
I. It’s not His will
I John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
II. There is sin in your heart
Ps 66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:
III. Your iniquity has separated you from God
Is 59: 2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
IV. You have turned a deaf ear to God’s instruction
Prov. 28:9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
V. You close your ears to the needy
Prov. 21:13 Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.
VI. If you doubt
James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
VII. When you have hypocritical prayers
Matt 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
VIII. If you have pride
Prov. 29:23 A man’s pride shall bring him low; but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
IX. If you give up too soon
I Thess 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
X. If you won’t forgive others
Matt. 6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
XI. You don’t ask
James 4:2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
XII. You don’t treat your wife right
I Peter 3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
Conclusion: Men ought always to pray
Luke 18:1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
